Race Report by Giuseppe de Liguori
Palazzolo – Brescia
01 May 2005

A warm-up race for the upcoming first leg of Italian National was held at the Green Park track in Palazzolo, near Brescia.

Following the official AMSCI rules there were three categories:
• Expert class for experienced drivers with open motors (including brushless) on handout Sorex 36 tires
• 12turn class on handout SP tires
• Junior class also with SP tires

On Sunday morning the sun was shining on Green Park. This is a very nice, fun-to-drive track with a mixture of fast and slow sections. Not many drivers attended the race so the atmosphere was very relaxed and, as the grip increased, it was possible to test some set-up option for the upcoming national event.

Niky Duina and myself, supported by Sprint RC (Italian Xray distributor), were there to get some practise on the track, and help all the other XRAY drivers of the other classes. The T1FK’05 seems to be very well suited to the track, being fast and still easy to drive.

At the end of the three qualifications I was TQ in the Expert class with Niky in 4th. In the other classes, other XRAY drivers were also doing well.

The Finals were exiting and saw some hard battles. On the narrow and challenging track a clean drive is the way to go and so after the three A final formats we had the following results with me in 1st and Niky in 4tht in the Expert class:

Expert Class
1. Giuseppe de Liguori (XRAY T1FK’05)

2. Dario Feni (Shumacher Mi2)
3. Francesco Martini (Corally RDX)
4. Niki Duina (XRAY T1FK’05)
5. Mimmo Petrucci (Tamiya 415)
6. Bertazzoni (XRAY T1FK’05)

12 Turn Class
1. Luca Esposito (XRAY T1FK’05)

2. Giacomo Piavani
3. Claudio Franzetti
4. Paolo Bonaita

27 Junior Class
1. Umberto Pagnoni
2. Cristian Pagani
3. Daniele Mattusi
4. Guido Mille
5. Romano Asperti

We have enjoyed the race and we spent some more track time after the finals to further improve our set-ups. We are very confident in the car's performance and we look forward to the upcoming Nationals. My set-up for Palazzolo is posted in the set-up database on XRAY Forum.
